Secure CAD Sharing
A practical playbook for sharing engineering models without emailing source files.
When to use this guide
Use BANANA-GOAT when a client, supplier, or teammate needs to see the geometry interactively, but downloading the STEP/STL/OBJ would create IP or NDA risk.
Recommended workflow
- Upload the production or review export into BANANA-GOAT (not a public drive folder)
- Wait for processing; confirm the library viewer looks right
- Create a share link for the review round; optionally embed in a portal page
- Send the link, not the CAD file
- Revoke the share when the review window ends
Good habits
Prefer one share per review audience so revoke is precise. Do not also attach the source file “just in case.” Keep enterprise procurement and DPA review on a parallel track for regulated buyers.
