Supported Formats

CAD and 3D formats BANANA-GOAT accepts for upload and processing.

Accepted formats

The product accepts common engineering and content formats:

  • .stl — mesh
  • .step / .stp — CAD (BREP); colors and edge shading when present
  • .obj — mesh + optional MTL / texture companions
  • .glb / .gltf — glTF binary or JSON (+ .bin sidecars for .gltf)
  • .fbx — mesh with materials / textures when provided

Companion files

Material formats may prompt for Basecolor, Normal, Roughness, and Metallic maps. Original filenames do not need to match; uploads are stored under canonical slot names for processing.

OBJ workflows can include MTL and image sidecars. glTF may include external .bin buffers.

Output

Regardless of input, delivery uses a processed secure viewer GLB — not the original CAD package. Additional formats can be discussed for enterprise workflows.
